Amsterdam! My favourite city anywhere in the world… and a city I call home! World famous for its canals, charming neighbourhoods, historic monuments, museums, buzzing culinary scene and vibrant nightlife, Amsterdam is the perfect city trip. I’ve heard many people talk excitedly about their first visit to Amsterdam when they were in their early twenties. Needless to say, much of the trip was a blur to most of them. Hmmm… I wonder why! 
Many of them have returned more than once, making a point to explore more of the city, and each time discover yet another reason to come back once more. That’s the charm of Amsterdam – despite its small size (hardly a million people live here), there’s always something new to discover.

It’s a great pleasure to feature my home city in a two-day social media campaign. Dubbed #StayMovenpick, this iambassador campaign is a partnership with Mövenpick Hotels whereby five bloggers and one videographer were invited to experience the famous Swiss hospitality of Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts as well as explore destinations around the world. Destinations covered by this campaign include Amsterdam (that’s me!), Hamburg, Berlin, Jordan, Tunesia, Phuket and Egypt (the video of a luxury Nile cruise will be available in November).
I always think I know my city well and later realise that that’s certainly not the case. This happened to me for the umpteenth time when I stayed at Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam. They surprised me with their unique insights to the city and my eyes were opened yet again to facets of Amsterdam I hardly knew existed. Curious?
